Another one that hit's closer to home and that looks into the business practices and ethics (or lack thereof of Monsanto).

March Against Monsanto

I'm staunchly opposed to giant agro-corporations like Monsanto, who are taking over the agricultural industry and fighting against any measures to label foods with GMOs (Genetically modified organisms).

For those interested in participating, there will be a world-wide "March Against Monsanto" on May 25th, 2013. I'm encouraging anyone who cares about our food supply and the right to know what we purchase and what we are consuming. Here's to ethical agriculture and business, health and well-being, and transparency.

Celebrities aside,  this is an important issue that I can get behind.

Academy Of The Impossible

These are colour variations of the posters that I designed for the "Academy Of The Impossible", an alternative education institution based out of Toronto. I think what they do is really wonderful as a concept and great for the community of there of individuals looking to find a place where they learn and thrive outside of the traditional school model.

I had a good deal of fun mocking these up and there were a number of ideas I was juggling around with, as seen below. Some that dealt with a mixture of the fantastic to the mythological.  The one's that made the cut had a lot of emphasis on reflecting the diversity of programs and subjects that the academy promotes. Most of all, the final results had to be simple fun to look at.

Sled Island 2013 Poster

These are the posters for Calgary's 2013 'Sled Island Music Festival' that uses some of my illustration (applied and rearranged for various promotional applications for the festival). The poster's type design, final application and overall art direction was overseen by 'Working Format' out of Vancouver. The concept for the illustrations needed to speak to music, film, art, comedy, green initiatives, special events, all the while encompassing a prairie vibe.
